Pick a tool, choose a file, set only the options you need, and start converting. If something goes wrong, work through the sections below.
Basic usage
- 1. Pick a tool
Search the home page by format or task name and open the conversion tool you need.
- 2. Choose a file
Pick a file in the selection area or drag one in. Web addresses can't be entered.
- 3. Convert and save
Choose your options and start the conversion; your browser converts the file on your device. When it finishes, download the result.
When a file can't be selected
Check that the file's actual format matches the extensions the tool expects. BaroConvert inspects the file's underlying structure rather than trusting the name or MIME type, so files with only a renamed extension aren't supported.
Empty files, images over 25 MiB, media over 100 MiB, documents over 50 MiB, subtitle or data files over 20 MiB, images over 40 megapixels or with a side over 16,384 px, and animated WebP are rejected before conversion. Animated APNG is supported only in the dedicated APNG ↔ GIF tool.
When conversion is slow to start or won't start
Video and audio tools download a media engine (about 32 MB) the first time, and the HEIC and PDF tools download and cache their own engines the same way. If the preparation progress stalls for a long time, check your network connection and try again.
Files that exceed the size limits or fail format validation are rejected before conversion starts, with a message explaining that the file isn't supported.
When conversion is rejected or fails
Conversion is refused when the options are invalid or the file doesn't match the tool's contract (for example, extracting audio from a video with no audio track). Depending on your device's performance and browser memory, large files can take a long time or fail.
You can cancel at any time to stop; cancelling halts the in-browser conversion immediately. If conversion errors persist, try a different file.
When the result isn't what you expected
Check the tool page for the output format, bitrate, quality, and what gets removed. Image location data, media metadata, subtitles, and album art aren't preserved, and only the first audio track of a media file is used.
Download finished results and open them to verify. Results you haven't downloaded can't be retrieved again after resetting or leaving the page.
