Supported file formats
Every BaroConvert conversion runs in your browser. Support is determined by inspecting the file's underlying structure rather than trusting the extension or MIME type, and no file is ever uploaded to a server.
Images
Static JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and BMP inputs convert to JPEG, PNG, or WebP; HEIC photos and SVG artwork have dedicated tools. There's also a tool that auto-traces PNG into SVG vectors, and one that converts between APNG and GIF animations. Image files are supported up to 25 MiB, 40 megapixels, and 16,384 px per side.
Animated WebP isn't supported. Re-encoding removes original metadata, including EXIF and GPS data, and colors may shift.

Video and audio
Media files are supported up to 100 MiB. Conversion runs in your browser; a media engine (about 32 MB) is downloaded once and served from the cache afterwards.
Only the first audio track is used. Output does not preserve subtitles, data tracks, thumbnails, album art, or original metadata.

Documents and PDF
Document files such as PDFs are supported up to 50 MiB. The PDF engine is downloaded from the same origin and runs only in your browser.

Text and subtitles
Subtitle and data files are supported up to 20 MiB.

CSV, JSON, YAML, and XML data files are supported up to 20 MiB; Excel workbooks and archives up to 50 MiB. All parsing and conversion runs in your browser.

Browser support
Works in recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop and mobile. Because conversion runs in your browser, processing time depends on your device's performance.
Any browser that supports file selection can run every tool.
What isn't supported
Downloading files from web addresses or YouTube links, speech transcription, OCR of scanned PDFs, and presentation formats such as PPTX aren't provided. DOCX and EPUB conversion is text-centric and doesn't preserve formatting or images. Formats not on this list aren't accepted for conversion even if they appear selectable.
